Preparation Stage:
If you have hired out the siding replacement project, you should have very little to do as a homeowner. The company should handle each stage and take all of the concern off of you. There are some homeowners that will choose to trim back the shrubbery and trees close to their home to eliminate any hinderances to the work.
Teardown Stage:
We will begin to remove your old siding from your house. We have found that this is often what separates quality companies from others based on the amount of mess they leave in your yard during this process. The company you select should be picking up any old siding or scraps that are falling into your yard which helps to eliminate any angry neighbors seeing trash in their yard.
Wall Prep State:
Your exterior walls will need to be inspected to see if there’s any required repairs before any house wrap can be installed. If any of the walls have damage, they will need to be replaced. The stability of the new siding is heavily dependent on the quality of those exterior walls.
House Wrap and New Siding Stage:
You will begin to see the new house wrap being installed to replace what was taken out during the teardown stage. After house wrap, the new siding will begin to go up. Depending on the siding, the installation stage can vary heavily from one to the other.
Cleanup Stage:
During all these stages, you should have regular cleanup happening. But once the project is complete, there will be discarded siding or other materials needing cleaned up. Cleaning off dust from the newly installed siding may also be needed.
